Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of TypingKeypad, a free browser-based typing practice tool. They are written to be read once and understood, not to be skimmed past. By using the site you accept them.
1. Acceptance of the terms
Using the site means you have read and accepted these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. You do not need an account, so there is nothing to sign — continued use is the only indication of acceptance, and it is sufficient.
2. Description of the service
TypingKeypad provides typing practice for English, Chinese, pinyin, Wubi and the numeric keypad, along with an on-screen keyboard with finger hints, an error heat map, a timed speed test, a progress chart and a custom-text mode.
The service is free, requires no registration, and runs entirely in your browser. Practice records are stored in your own browser's local storage and are never uploaded. The service is provided as-is and may change, gain or lose features, or stop being available at any time.
3. Permitted use
You are welcome to:
- Use the site for personal practice, teaching, classroom demonstration or staff training.
- Paste your own text into the custom-text panel — including exam material, scripts, or code snippets you want to drill.
- Link to any page of the site from your own site, classroom material or social media.
- Quote short passages from the guide articles with attribution and a link back.
4. Prohibited conduct
Please do not:
- Attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or gain unauthorised access to any system.
- Use automated scripts to generate load, scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others, or bypass any rate limiting.
- Republish the guide articles wholesale, or present the site's content as your own.
- Remove or obscure the open-source attribution notices for the Wubi code data.
- Use the service for anything unlawful in your jurisdiction.
5. Intellectual property and open-source attribution
The site's own material — the lesson text, the guide articles, the interface, the layout and the code that is not otherwise attributed — is ours and is protected by copyright. You may not redistribute it as a product of your own.
The Wubi code data comes from open-source projects and is used under their licences: the 86 version under Apache-2.0, the 98 version under the Unlicense (public domain), and the New Century version under MIT. Full source details, the exact files used, and copies of each licence are in the licenses/ folder. Those notices must be preserved in any redistribution of that data.
Your own practice records and any text you paste in remain yours. We claim no rights over them.
6. Third-party links and advertising
The site may link to external sites and may display advertising served by third parties, including Google. We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of any third party, and a link is not an endorsement.

7. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose — including any professional certification, employment test or examination requirement.
Speed and accuracy figures produced by the tool are estimates for practice purposes. Different tests, texts and keyboards yield different numbers, and no score here should be treated as a formal measurement of typing ability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including loss of practice records, lost time, or any decision made on the basis of a score produced here.
Because practice records are stored only in your own browser, clearing site data, switching browsers or using private browsing will make them unavailable. That is how the service is designed to work and is not a defect we are liable for. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Custom text is never uploaded
Text you paste into the custom-text panel is stored in your browser's local storage so that your draft survives a reload. It is not transmitted to any server. We do not read it, process it, or keep a copy. If you are practising confidential material, that material stays on your device.
10. Changes to the service
We may add, change or remove features, and may suspend or discontinue the service, at any time and without notice. We are not liable for any consequences of such changes. If a change affects your locally stored data, the data remains on your device regardless.
11. Changes to these terms
The current version will always be posted at this URL with the date at the top. Continued use after a change means the current version applies. Where a change is material, we will note it on the site.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute arises, we would prefer to resolve it by talking: email us first. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by discussion is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts where the operator is domiciled.
13. Other
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These terms, together with the privacy policy, form the whole of the agreement between you and us regarding the service.
